This Privacy Policy explains how Trainers Collect ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and related services. By using Trainers Collect, you agree to the practices described here. We are committed to being transparent about the data we collect and to giving you control over it.
Information we collect
Account information: when you create an account we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. Profile and collection data: the Pokémon, cards, sets, portfolio holdings, watchlist entries, and notes you choose to add. Digest subscriptions: the email address you provide when subscribing to the Weekly Digest. Usage data: we log aggregated, anonymized analytics events (such as pages viewed and features used) to understand how the platform is used. Technical data: standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and request timestamps for security and reliability.
How we use your information
We use your information to create and manage your account, display your portfolio and watchlist, send the Weekly Digest to subscribers who opt in, compute and show personalized scores and analytics, improve our features and data quality, monitor for abuse and protect the platform, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Account authentication
Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes and are never readable by anyone, including our team. If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google, we receive only the identity details that provider shares (such as your name and email) to create and sign you into your account, and we never see or store that provider password.
Third-party data sources
Trainers Collect displays Pokémon species data from PokéAPI, card and set data from TCGdex, video metadata from YouTube, and marketplace listing data from eBay. These providers have their own privacy practices that govern any data they collect when you interact with their content or links. We embed only the data needed to display the relevant information and do not share your account data with these sources.
Data retention
We retain your account and collection data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account or specific portfolio and watchlist entries at any time, and we will remove the associated data from our active systems. Digest subscribers can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email, and we will stop sending and remove the subscription address. We may retain anonymized, aggregated logs after account deletion for analytics and security purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, unsubscribe from communications, and withdraw consent for optional processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Contact page. We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe.
Children privacy
Trainers Collect is not directed to children under the age required to create an account in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and act promptly if we learn of a breach.
